"In 2001, Community of Christ adopted a new name. 900 congregations in the United States and Canada suddenly had obsolete signs. To help create a unified identity, Community of Christ sought out national sign companies that could furnish signs in any area of the country. Colors and fonts were selected with the help of consultants and would need to be matched exactly by the sign provider we chose. Half a dozen national providers were reviewed and three finalists selected. Church representatives visited the headquarters and manufacturing facilities of each so that we could evaluate both the business practices and manufacturing quality of each finalist. We chose Innovative Sign to be the only recommended sign manufacturer for Community of Christ. We were impressed with the quality and value offered by their signs. We've never had a dispute over the warranty on these signs. Although our initial program is now over, we still recommend Innovative Sinage to new congregations as they are established. Our interest was to provide attractive, long-lasting signs for our congregations, using identical designs, colors and fonts to help us establish a unified identity. Innovative worked with our designers to create choices, and priced these models aggressively. No funds were ever returned to Community of Christ for this recommendation. If our endorsement was "bought," it was bought with very high quality signs at fair prices offered to our congregations anywhere in the country. There were no marketing or advertising kickbacks."
